The AMIA New Investigator Award recognizes an individual for early informatics contributions and significant scholarly contributions on the basis of scientific merit and research excellence. This award is designed to be awarded to an assistant/associate professor level individual contributing promising findings to the field.

Criteria       

  • Significant scientific productivity in informatics prior to reaching eligibility for fellowship in the American College of Medical Informatics.
  • The nominator(s) should include the first publication in a journal including the full title and PubMed URL demonstrating eligibility with a date less than 10 years from the year of the nomination.
  • Significant scientific publications including contributions to journals including and other than JAMIA.
  • AMIA membership and ongoing commitment to the organization.
  • Presentations at AMIA conferences, and/or publications in JAMIA, other AMIA publications, and national and international forums.
