Dr. Bačkonja ((Уба Бaчкоњa, pronunciation oo-ba BAHTCH-kon-ya) is a consumer and public health informatics researcher. Her focus is on user-centered design of equitable informatics and is also doing work to understand how to integrate health equity into informatics training programs. Dr. Bačkonja completed a BS in Biological Anthropology and a BS, MS, and PhD in Nursing from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. After completing her dissertation at the National Institutes of Health as an intramural predoctoral fellow, she completed a National Library of Medicine Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Washington School of Medicine.
