Biden Unveils Fiscal Year 2024 Budget in Brief
Late last week, President Biden unveiled his FY 2024 budget proposal. Highlights include:
- $144 billion for the Department of Health and Human Services – an 11.5 percent increase
- $340 million for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Data Modernization initiative – an increase of $165 million above the FY 2023 enacted funding level
- $2.5 billion for Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health – a proposed $1 billion increase
- $48.265 billion for National Institutes of Health overall – a 1.7% increase over the comparable FY 2023 funding level
