WASHINGTON, DC (November 1, 2024) – The American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA) is proud to announce the 2024 Leadership Award recipients. The leaders will be presented with their awards during the 2024 Annual Symposium in San Francisco, during the State of the Association on November 12.
The awards recognize informatics leaders who actively support the mission and vision of AMIA. Each year, the Chair of the AMIA Board of Directors and the CEO select individuals who have demonstrated outstanding volunteer leadership and service to the association and profession.
“These exceptional professionals have demonstrated a commitment to the mission and vision of AMIA—elevating the organization and the profession. We applaud their tremendous achievements,” said AMIA President and Board of Director’s Chair Genevieve Melton-Meaux, MD, PhD, FACMI. “The AMIA Leadership Award program provides an opportunity for our members at different stages of their careers to be recognized for significant contributions to the field of informatics. We take this opportunity to celebrate amazing talent and highlight award presentations that recognize leadership, innovation and professional achievement. Congratulations to the 2024 recipients.”
The AMIA Annual Symposium is the world’s premier meeting for the research and practice of biomedical and health informatics. The Symposium presents leading-edge scientific research on biomedical and health informatics, and more than 150 scientific sessions. The work presented spans the spectrum of the informatics field: translational bioinformatics, clinical research informatics, clinical informatics, consumer health informatics and public health informatics.
