New Fellows honored for their outstanding achievements in the application of informatics
ROCKVILLE, MD – The American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA) announced the 2023 class of 70 Fellows of AMIA (FAMIA) in the FAMIA Applied Informatics Recognition Program – a program meant to recognize AMIA members who apply informatics skills and knowledge within their professional setting, who have demonstrated professional achievement and leadership, and who have contributed to the betterment of the organization.
“Congratulations to the 2023 class of AMIA fellows,” said Gretchen Purcell Jackson, MD, PhD, FACS, FACMI, FAMIA, AMIA Board Chair and President, Vice President and Scientific Medical Officer, Intuitive Surgical and Associate Professor of Surgery, Pediatrics, and Biomedical Informatics, Vanderbilt University Medical Center. “The esteemed FAMIA credential recognizes the extraordinary accomplishments of applied informatics professionals. These individuals have demonstrated leadership in their settings and continue to advance healthcare through informatics.”
FAMIA recognizes professionals who apply informatics skills and knowledge towards the goals of enhanced personal and population health, improved organizational performance and learning, and individual empowerment in their health, care, and research.
A formal induction ceremony will be held at the AMIA 2023 Clinical Informatics Conference May 23-25 in Chicago.
