Public Biography
I am a clinical informatician working to improve healthcare outcomes with EHRs. I have a diverse technical and cultural background with graduate training in Latin America and Europe, and doctoral training in the U.S. Over 20 years of experience in health IT in large healthcare organizations. Wide knowledge of health care processes, EHR systems, clinical documentation systems, clinical decision support systems, and messaging and terminology standards. Project manager for large-scale EHR implementations in both academia and industry, in ambulatory and hospital settings, and in U.S. and non-U.S. organizations. Research interests in health IT adoption and impact, clinical decision support with a focus on alert fatigue and shared decision-making, knowledge representation, and EHR design.
