Historic ACMI Biography
Over the years Dr. Mantas has played significant roles such as President of the European Federation for Medical Informatics (EFMI), Vice-President of IMIA and Chair of the Accreditation and Certification Committee of EFMI and contributed to synergies between AMIA and other informatics organizations worldwide. Dr. Mantas has made significant and sustained contributions to the field and has contributed to the development of graduate education in health informatics globally. He led a significant effort on developing recommendations and standards for informatics graduate programs and this work still informs and is cited by informatics training programs in the US. With his leadership roles in EFMI and IMIA he has ensured that AMIA benefits from an international perspective in the development of educational programs in informatics. He has made significant contributions to the field of nursing informatics education and research and this work has informed the nursing informatics training agenda in the US.
