Public Biography
I am the Chief Medical Information Officer and Division Chief of Clinical Informatics at Nationwide Children's Hospital and a Professor of Pediatrics at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. I attended medical school at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, completed my pediatric residency at All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida, and my Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. I have been at Nationwide Children's Hospital since 2003 and established the Division of Clinical Informatics and our ACGME-accredited Clinical Informatics fellowship program in 2016. With over 20 years of Emergency Department experience, I has long understood the value of information and information technology caring for patients and families, and in communicating with other healthcare professionals. Our group of physician informaticists and fellows collaborate with colleagues in other informatics-related and clinical disciplines ñ through creative use of our electronic medical record system and related health information technologies ñ to support patient care activities, clinical and business operations, pediatric population health management, quality improvement initiatives, and research programs.
