Historic ACMI Biography

Profile image
Dr. Singhís election to the College is based on his record of innovative scholarship, leadership and international recognition in informatics and patient safety. In 2007, he received an NIH-K23 career development award to study diagnostic errors in EHR-enabled care settings. He has since developed a unique, multidisciplinary research program that focuses on improving follow-up of abnormal diagnostic test results and measuring and reducing diagnostic errors in EHR-based settings. Dr. Singhís scholarly contributions led to his receipt of the Academy Health Alice Hersh New Investigator Award in 2012. For his pioneering work in informatics and patient safety, he was awarded the 2012 Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers (PECASE), the highest honor bestowed by the United States government on early-stage science and engineering professionals.
