Historic ACMI Biography
Zhi is a global leader in medical AI innovations encompassing bioinformatics, genetics, and biomedical informatics. He devised Med-BERT, a highly-cited clinical foundation model for EHR data; developed the RaPID algorithm for DNA segment-matching at the biobank-scale; and introduced unsupervised deep learning, AI-generated, imaging-derived phenotypes that enable genetic discovery beyond human-labels.
