Dr. Heckerman recognized the importance of probability in AI while researching medical AI and building the 1st probabilistic expert system using Bayes nets applied to pathology diagnosis, expanded his research to machine learning and applying this at Microsoft Research and Human Longevity over 25 years to products, vaccine design, genomics.
