Historic ACMI Biography
Dr. Hartzler's research on human-centered design of digital technologies contributes methods and insights that promote health equity by characterizing the expertise of patients, addressing hidden bias in patient-provider communication, and informing the extraction of SDoH from EHRs in ways patients find acceptable. By integrating input from patients, her research shapes human-centered AI.
