Public Biography
Dr. Alekseyenko is the South Carolina SmartState Endowed Chair In Environmental and Biomedical Panomics. He leads NLM T15 SC Biomedical Informatics and Data Science for Health Equity Research Training Program (SC BIDS4Health). He is the Founding Director of Program for Human Microbiome Research and Director of the Living µBiome Bank at Medical University of South Carolina. He leads research on distance-based analytics for panomic and health data.

An expert methodologist whose work underlays many computational analyses of the human biome and an important contributor to the science of the effects of the biome on obesity, psoriasis, and other diseases, Dr. Alekseyenko is also a distinguished educator leading an informatics training program focused on addressing health disparities.
