Public Biography
Albert M. Lai is a Professor in the Institute for Informatics, Biostatistics, and Data Science at Washington University and the Chief Research Information Officer for the Washington University School of Medicine. Dr. Lai's research interests include clinical research informatics, natural language processing, and large language models.
Historic ACMI Biography
Dr. Lai is a well-known expert in the use of natural language processing techniques for electronic phenotyping and clinical trial eligibility pre-screening. He currently serves as the CRIO for the Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine. Dr. Lai has also held numerous leadership positions within AMIA.
