The Duke Clinical Informatics Fellowship is a two-year program designed to train US Board Certified or eligible physicians who are seeking in-depth expertise in clinical informatics and leadership experience. The blend of business and clinical informatics emphasis in the program uniquely prepares physicians looking to acquire the skills and experience to serve in new or additional clinical and/or administrative leadership roles, such as Chief Medical Information Officer, Chief Health Information Officer, or Chief Information Officer.

This ACGME-accredited fellowship program was established at Duke in 2016 with the academic sponsorship of the Department of Biostatistics & Bioinformatics and the financial support from the quasi-endowment at DUHS to train the next generation of clinical informatics faculty leaders. The program has been very successful in attracting highly qualified fellows and has proven to be an effective pipeline for producing Duke faculty members.
