The 25x5 Task Force leverages the collective expertise of key stakeholders in healthcare, industry, and policy to prioritize and implement the calls to action and recommendations established by the 25x5 Symposium. The 25x5 Task Force is structured around four workstreams:

  • Health Professional/Systems
  • Health IT Vendors
  • Policy/Advocacy
  • Impact

The Task Force's mission is to reduce U.S. health professionals' documentation burden to 25% of current state within five years. We will optimize and spread across the U.S. health system impactful solutions that decrease non-value-added documentation and leverage partnerships and advocacy with health systems, professional societies, and public/private sector organizations.

The 25X5 Task Force is seeking participation approximately 15 new members from a diverse group of AMIA members; students and individual members are all welcome to apply.

The task force is seeking volunteers to advance efforts via four workstreams as well as the student subcommittee:

  • Health Professionals/System
  • HIT Vendor/Technology Requirements
  • Policy and Advocacy
  • Impact
  • Student Committee

Ideal Candidate Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and have a strong knowledge base in health data systems, electronic health records, clinical documentation workflows and processes, and documentation burden reduction. Prior work experience in investigating or implementing documentation burden reduction strategies and streamlining processes would be valuable.

Time Commitment

  • The 25x5 Task Force meets every other Thursday at 3:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. ET
  • +/- additional one hour of work on task force activities per week
