Public Biography
I am part of the Emergency Medicine department at Hackensack University Medical Center. Here I enable the use of data science and informatics to provide clarity in complex decision making and drive performance improvement. Additionally, I work to establish and grow a robust research infrastructure within the department and am appointed as an Assistant Professor in Emergency Medicine at the Hackensack School of Medicine.
I am also a faculty member in Columbia's Department of Biomedical Informatics and an affiliated member of the Data Science Institute .
Previously, I was at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital's Value Institute where I lead the research and evaluation efforts. We leveraged clinical data and scientific methods to study and improve the quality and safety of patient care. I completed my thesis work with Dr. Noémie Elhadad in 2016 and was honored to participate in a series about my pre-doctoral training at Columbia. Our work focused on the development of high-throughput computational tools for summarization of patient records across many different data types (medications, laboratory tests, diagnosis codes, and clinical text). The thesis was chosen as the inagural winner of the AMIA Dissertation Award!
